    Default Johnson 25 hp ID

    Hello Gents,
New to the forum, and I have the usual question that brought me here. What year/model motor do I have? The ID tag is missing and I got the boat and motor for free from a family member. It has been sitting for at least 7 years. Also I noticed that the flywheel has teeth, so can I add and electric start to this? My shoulder is not what it used to be just having surgery. Any help will be greatly appreciated.Click image for larger version.

About a 1968 model from the hood. If you can find the parts for it electric start is available.

The emblem on the hood clearly identifies it as a 69 model.------First year of the 25 hp model I believe.

Thank you very much! So '69 is the only year the emblem is on the hood?

I just became owner of HD25, s/n 501901. Can someone tell me what year it was made and if there is a manual available somewhere? Thanks

That is the 22 cid engine one of the best ever built IMO you may get lucky finding a parts motor on craigslist with the electric start bracket and harness the bracket is a high dollar item if you can find one. The conversion is real easy with the right parts.
It takes a nickle to go first class!
If it aint broke dont fix it!!
