Good Morning all,
I have a problem. My 5 hp Honda Ob doesn't want to start.
1. Fuel filter is clean and fuel is getting to carburetor
2. Took out jet ( was clean but cleaned anyways )
3. Drained bowl and put in new gas
4. Plug is good and is dry ( not getting gas )
5. Good spark

Any other ideas ??

Thanks much !!!

I don't know that outboard or that carb but here's something you could try prior to actually taking the carb off and cleaning it correctly.

At the inlet end of the carburetor...where the air goes in....there should be at least one, if not a couple, smaller drilled passages about 1/4" in diameter on the outer edge of the main "Venturi" opening. You may need to remove some plastic air inlet ducting to see and access them.

Try blasting some carb spray into them. Use the little, plastic straw that comes with the can to concentrate the force of the spray by putting it in the passage about 1/2".

If you have a helper, do the spraying while trying to start the engine.

If you're lucky, and the carb isn't too gummed up, she might start and clear herself out.

But if the outboard was put away weeks or months ago without fully draining the carb, it's probably gonna want the Full Monty carb service.

Good luck.
