'72 Merc 800 -- Location of #1 spark plug wire on distributor cap?

I just want to verify that I put the wires in the right holes. I put #1 in the second hole counter-clockwise from the vent on the cap, with the firing order of 1, 3, 2, 4. Is that correct?

Thanks for responding, haventaclue (should by my name).

The problem was I had them in the wrong terminals on the distributor. Finally realized that the arrow on the distributor drive sprocket points to #1. I had #4 in that spot and couldn't figure out why my number 1 wire had such a delayed spark. Duh!
