Raw water strainer?

There were no raw water strainers on the boat? This was really odd to me
I thought that was a standard item. How hard/costly would they be to ad?
I have looked in other boats similar to this and it doesn't look complicated.

Close valve, cut line, mount and splice in strainers. Open valve, leak check,
run leak check. (change hoses and clamps depending on condition)
Am I missing something here?

Thanks

Depending on where you boat, you might not need them. I'm in Long Island sound and could easily do away with mine. I clean my strainers every season but could go years without touching them. I do have slotted intakes though.

Yes, they could be easily added but plan on $200 each plus new hose (if original).
