Bubbles in fuel filter?

Lately one of my engines had been stalling out at a low RPM. Especially challenging when the engine cuts out when docking the boat.

They other engine runs fine.

I suspect air is getting into the fuel line, so i removed the cover, started the engine, and saw air bubbles going into the fuel filter.

I had already replaced the gas bulb and fuel lines going into the water strainer last year, so I feel confident that the connections aren't the issue. I also had replaced all the fuel lines going to the carbs last year and those connections are solid as well.

So here's question ... Should there be ANY bubbles thar can be seen going into the fuel filter at all?

I'm pondering replacing the entire water separator assembly and filter at this point.

I'd like to get some input from others with that thoughts on this.

I did check the separator for any fuel leaks .... No gas that I could detect. And the fuel lines going to and from the separator are tight with no apparent gas leaks, and the connections are tight.

BTW ... When cruising at a high speed the engine runs 100% fine.
