Looking for some advice, been searching and can't find exact answer,
i aquired 1990 boat with a shot 2.3 omc ford. Head is cracked and piston walls are pitted. I know there are limited parts available. I also found that same year mustangs are the same block. Finding a used mustang engine seems a heck of a lot easier and cheaper than an OMC. What will need to be swapped out to throw into the boat besides intake/exhaust manifolds? Can the block and head be thrown in or will new gaskets, valves, cams, etc...needed? It will only run in fresh water, no salt. I like the hull, it's an aluminum fishing boat, not trash fiberglass. Any help appreciated.
