gimbal bearing stuck - 4.3 cobra

Hi guys - so im more familiar with mercruisers.. helping a guy out with his omc. . tried the 5lbs slide hammer I use on mercs but this thing aint budging -

is the 3 jaw mandatory? Also - no snap ring, i guess this things pressed in there? Will a rental AZ 3 jaw tool work or will i need something else?
