our boat is the 1987 Bayliner Capri cuddy, 4cyl 2.4l.
So we're having issues with our carburetor and are trying to decide how to fix it, The valve doesn't open or close, one of our friends thinks a spring is missing on the outside of it. The current carburetor is a 2jet rochester. Would/should a repair kit be enough to fix it or buying a new one? for either options, What would you recommend as the replacement for it?
To the reverse cable. When we get it started we have forward but no reverse. We're worried about taking the back off because we're not sure if there is something we can fully mess up with the boat. My roommate was looking at it briefly and said there is lots of different fluid in the area, hydraulics, would you recommend taking it to a shop or trying to replace our selves? We have some experience, Also which cable would we need to get?
