Henry White, Stator change/ never done this before,

I have a 50 hp force outboard motor, will not charge voltage and RPM don't register. Starts and runs great, why no charge. I'm guessing it the stator, Ive never done this before should I tackle this job?
 
We need model and serial number of engine? CDI electronics has good troubleshooting procedures if all the wiring is good follow the instructions. You need a DVA adaptor for your volt ohm meter to properly diagnose electrical issues.
