backfires???

When I had something similar, it was plug wires. Ended up taking them all off and putting them back on one at a time to be sure of firing order,fixed it.

Checked firing order and reseated all the plug wires. No changes. Will swap the port carb with the starboard to see if it is a carb issue.
 
Did anything change recently? Have you made the switch to electronic ignition? Might be worth your time to check timing next.
