I have a 1978 152H8D 15hp outboard that my dad uses on a small fishing boat. My question is dis this model ever come with an electric start or is there a way to add one? His strength isn't what it used to be and I need to figure out if I can do something or need to get an different motor.

The electric start was available on that motor as an option.
Finding parts now to change that over would be close to impossible.

Your motor is worth 3-400 $ sell it and buy one with electric start.
