Looking at the engine manual and my actual engine; The alternator mount seems to be totally screwed up. Please have a look at the picture and tell me what you think.

1. That piece I circled shouldn't be there according to the manual. It does not seem
to have any function. It connects the lower screw with the upper screw but does not do anything else.

2. From the manual, it looks like the alternator should be mounted "behind" the tension bracket, not in front. With the current setup, the belt seems to run ok though.

3. I know the tension bracket isn't correct and also mounted the wrong way around. I will get a new one, either original Perkins or a Belt Buddy. Any thoughts?
