Bent Prop Shaft! Help! Mercury Tower of Power 115

Hey everyone, I just found out that the motor I purchased recently has a bent prop shaft. How hard is this to replace? how much does a new shaft cost?

Also, when I put the engine into gear, it grids for about three seconds before finally catching. Are my gears toast?
 
Outboards are to be shifted with a quick firm motion.-----No " granny shifting " is allowed.---------New propshaft is frightening as far as cost.-----Not hard to replace.----Look for used parts on FLEABAY.
 
Thanks for the reply racerone, slight misunderstanding though, when I put the motor in gear, it takes 3 seconds for it to catch while it's in gear
 
No serial # posted.-------A new propshaft could be $ 500 or more.--------Sounds like the lower unit needs teardown and inspection.---??-What takes 3 seconds ??
