Replacing FILTER, FUEL PUMP

I recently checked that filter on one of my '03's that I'm chasing a low rpm and surging problem on. It's just an air filter and I could easily blow thru mine so I didn't replace it. I had to loosen the right fuel rail to feed the tube up the outside and feed it down the middle after the vst was out of the way.

What is the problem you are working on?

I'm chasing a low RPM issue too. The old one seemed fine when I just did a simple blow through test. When I opened (disassembled) it and inspected, found the filter to be about 1/3 blocked, the blocked part looked translucent. Not a silver bullet (New one might help efficiency?) but while I have everything apart and for the cheap price for the new part it seemed the right thing to do.
