Hi all, Im new here, signing in from Fairfax Oklahoma...Ive got a 1989 Bayliner Ciera 2655. omc Cobra 5.7L/8L. Ive recently replaced all the bellows along with the gimble bearing, so on an so forth. Fore some reason Im not able to get the outdrive back on. Ive noticed the gimble bearing is not flush against the gimble seal, there is about a 1/4 inch or less space between the bearing and seal. My question: is that space supposed to be there or should the bearing be flush against the seal. Could that be the problem with the outdrive not going back on or is something not lining up. Ive made several attempts but it lacks about an inch or more from completely going on...does anyone have any easy tips for putting the outdrive on....other than patience. lol Thanks in advance.

Ayuh,... That's about the spot the input shaft splines start to engage the splines in the coupler,....

Either it's out of alignment, or the shaft needs to be turned abit,...
