Replacing harness plug on a 1969 Johnson outboard with a terminal block

Hi all,

Looking to replace the warn out plug with a terminal block is there a special way of setting this up or is it as simple as marrying up the respected terminal ends on the block. Also what kind of strip or block do you recommend using.
