Hi first post on here I have a 80 hp mercury outboard motor 3 cyl 1987 vintage the power trim tilt motor went out on it
so i purchased a tilt trim motor from e bay with new replacement solenoids which were all pre wired connected all up as per instructions
then my problems started push switch to lift the motor and the starter motor gets low power as well this happens in the down position as well turn the key the starter works as normal have been through the wiring and can find no link between the 2 need some help please has anyone fitted one of these that could walk me through the wiring problem as i sit here and type this i am beginning to wonder should i have used the negative wire to switch the solenoids would that prevent back feed mike
