Adding power tilt and trim to a 1996 48 hp Evinrude

Hello, back playing with boats after 30 years and now I have a back problem so I am looking to replace the tilt assist with a power tilt and trim unit. If I can find a assembly at a reasonable price, is there any other parts needed? My new BRP controller already has the button for tilt and trim.

Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.

Colorado Rick i feel your pain,not sure about the parts needed besides the proper harness, Just bring your grandson fishing and problem solved,

Try CMC.com for an after market unit. Easy to install.

Thanks Boobie, I may have to look into this but it looks like it adds a lot of bulk

A possible alternative...available at most marine supply stores...works well

I used one of those in the early 70s on a 65 merc., Worked great!!

I had one I used on a V-4 Evinrude and was happy with it.
