2017 150 hp mercury fourstroke

I have a brand new 150 hp mercury 4 stroke. While flushing the lower unit with the water flush system, water was coming out around the oil drain nipple on the right side of the motor where the nipple and the cowling come together. Is this normal. .
 
I just bought the same motor, my dealer advised not to,use the flush, but run it on muffs. Said it flushes around thermostats
