Just purchased a Hurricane with a 1993 mercury eng. PO had put a boat plug in the oil tank on top of the engine. he has a black and a blue spliced together just at edge of tank on the engine. I have ordered the proper cap and it has two wires and I would believe the two spliced wires go to the tank cap. should the wires on the engine that connect to the tank cap be black and blue wires? thanks for any help. New cap should be here Monday.
