mariner 8 hp made in japan

I have a mariner 8 hp made in Japan . I cant find any info on it. Every time I put serial no.in says NO NUMBER FOUND. The tag reads 8M 6G1 S 012239. I am having water getting into the foot.I need a diagram or someone to tell me how it is getting in. I put it in a barrel of water put air in the input hole for the gear oil and air came out the exhaust.

The chart says 1984 but the model number suggests 1985...It's all the same though.
