2006 225hp Mercury Optimax. The power trim works fine on the trailer and at idle. When running WOT, the motor trims up, but, seems to me I should be able to trim up more then it's current position. It used to trim up until prop would cavitate and start to loose water pressure. What would be the cause and repair.

Do you hear air gurgling when you trim up on the trailer? Seems to me as if you may have blown a trim seal. First place a trim system will typically fail is when it has the load of the boat on it (in the water at speed) because not only is it trimming the motor up, it is pushing the bow up and out of the hole.

You could simply bleed the system and see if that cures it (temporarily).
