Hi all

I am in need of 4 studs for my 200hp merc. Anyone in Australia or America got some they want to part with give away? would be nice.If have to I will pay.

And is it really that important that when putting the powerhead back on that they need to be tightened to correct specs?
My other outboard has done just fine by hand.

Its a 1986 model 2.4litre.

Also what steel are they made of?Perhaps I could buy some steel and cut to length and get my mate who's an engineer to put the threads on them.

Those usually are coarse thread on one end (into the power head) and fine on the other end. You can use coarse on BOTH ends, which is far easier to find.

The material is semi-high strength steel. Figure out how long they need to be and you can order them from ARP (on-line--they make quality stuff for racing) or elsewhere. Older Mercs used 3/8 studs for this application.

Hope that helps.
