Oil type for 2014 MP 454's?

Looking to do the second oil change on my two Marine Power 454's that have 160 hrs. First change was at 50 hrs by the seller/installer. Question is can I start running synthetic? Should I? I'm in the deep south (New Orleans) so what type/weight should I use?

The synthetic costs more but can last longer.....most people don't use their boats long enough to justify the cost increase....
 
Thanks Makomark. I guess we don't fall into the "most people" cat then, lol. We will average 10-15 hrs a week. Even more so more when we run it over to our place in Pensacola.
