Well that makes sense.... Why didn't I install the old pump top off the old lower? I don't know. Not sure what I was thinking? Hopefully that will fix that pumping issue. Good info. on the pick up pipe too, makes sense that it would be designed that way. I'm in a bit of a panic, because I want this thing available for use everyday during scallop season.
At least this way, when it's for sale, I will be able to boat test it for the buyer. When I buy a new to me engine, I prefer a boat test if possible.
