Can anyone tell me what might be the differences between a 1966 80hp Starflite and a 1968 85 hp? They share a lot of the same parts..
 
Entire electrical system, including distributor, alternator, voltage regulator, flywheel, crankshaft, mounting system for the alternator and distributor, wiring harness, timer base, etc, etc.
 
In case your real question is how to get 85hp out of your 80hp, the cylinder heads are different. Did I say you can just slap a set of 85 heads on an 80 and get 5 more horses? No, I didn't say that. Mainly because I never considered it worthwhile to look into it. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway. Besides, I haven't compared the pistons either.
