Regulator question...97 Johnson 115

The reasion i ask is becorce i lose my tatch between 1400-1600rpm, it is ok under and over this rpm, also lose the volt meter at the same time.
Someone had the same problem ?

Sounds like a bare wire touching ground intermittently with spark advance from the statoror a dirty connector. Clean all the connectors with electrical cleaner and put back together with dielectric grease. Inspect all the wires for bare cracked insulation and bend them looking for weak spots. Pull the grounds apart and clean good with emery cloth. use a multimeter at the battery and check battery voltage and see if it also changes when the tach and volt meter stop working. make sure the wiring is good then you can test the components.

I feel that the problem is conected to the position on the gear/trottle arm on the controll box.
Yes i will check and clean the wiring.
