A couple of months back I posted a notice (and asked for opinions) about a 200 HP Johnson that needed repairs. I received several helpful responses from this community and I want to say "Thank you".
Some of you that answered; you were right on the money. One opinion was that the rectifier and timer base might not be the problem. You guys were right!
The first mechanic was dead wrong..
The second mechanic I took it to fixed the problem with a the key ignition and 1 power pack.
This monster outboard NOW runs like a dream. Of course it remains a 1976 model but like I said IT PURRRS..
