Water dripping from shift cable

Has anyone seen or know the fix for water dripping out of the shift cable. It seems to get worse when going faster.

By the sounds of it you have the engine back together and running good. Is it leaking at the transom plate or through the cable itself?

If water is coming out at the point where the shift cable comes thru the transom assembly then the shift cable boot/bellows is torn or no secured to the outer transom correctly.

if water is coming out the cable end where it attaches to the shift bracket then it is water getting into the u joint bellows cavity which could be a torn gasket of u joint bellows.

It's coming out the end of the cable at the shift bracket

U joint bellows, well that's another new one to me, I shall educate myself and investigate

Ayuh,.... If the large water passage O-ring was dislodged durin' the drive installation, can also cause that,....

It is a 1999 Alpha one gen two
I'll have to do another run as I didn't feel on the run. I know the seals have not been replaced as well
