Mariner 60 hp power tilt

I just bought a Ranger with a mariner 60 hp tiller motor. I am new to bigger motors that have power tilt. It worked fine and it was only run when I bought a few months ago. Well I winterized it the other day and the tilt didnt work. I found a plug by the swith pulled out when I pulled the cover off. It works fine now.

My question is if it doesnt work is there any way to unhook the tilt motor so you can do it manually. I never had power tilt and was just trying to see if in case it doesnt work someday. If cant tilt could damage the motor when hauling .

There should be a manual release screw on side of motor,this releases the pressure so you can lift engine manually

Its 60RLHPTV 1999 motor. Is the release screw on the thing thats like a shock that raises and lowers the unit. I see a big white plastic screw on the bottom of the thing that looks like a shock. Thanks for your help.
