Trolling motor bends when engaged

Engaging the trolling motor pushing the boat forward causes the trolling motor to bend and hit the boat. I got this motor used so it seems maybe a bracket is missing or broken that normally holds the motor in place. Any tips on how to correct this behavior.

Thanks,

That motor has the 42 inch tube and is the pedal steering and 24 volts 1994-97.
B=bow mount F=foot pedal L=long shaft 4=24volts, not sure what the S stands for

Yea I could not find the complete OMC assembly. You have the foot pedal steering correct? You just need a similar bracket that will clamp on the upper tube. Being a shallow draft boat you can probably just cut both tubes down so it would be practical it would take some work but doable. That motor is designed for a deep draft bow mount. Another possibility you could trade it for a transom mount just put a add on craigslist?

It 100% normal for the shaft to flex 2-3 inches when power is applied...also check the the swivel bearing as these are bad about balls falling out and making it sloppy.
