    Default Milky stuff on lower unit. Help?

    Hey, i have a 8hp mercury 2 stroke. It randomly had some white/ gray stuff on the lower unit. Is it lower gear oil and whats xausing it?

    Does it smell like gearoil?
    It takes a nickle to go first class!
    If it aint broke dont fix it!!

    I have a deviated septum and cant smell much. I keep trying to upload a photo but it wont let me

    Can you smell gas? How old is the gearoil?
    It takes a nickle to go first class!
    If it aint broke dont fix it!!

    Certainly no gas smell and it should have been changed this past spring (few months ago)

    It was unusual bc i didnt take it out or do anything to it. I washed it a day or two before and out of no where that stuff appeared

    Get a couple washers for the drain and fill plugs and change the gearoil. It should have been changed this spring tells me you dont know. If it has water in it you want to find out quick as possible. It wouldnt hurt to do a pressure test at the same time.
