Fuel starvation at 3000 rpm

Mercruiser 4.3 LX 4 BBL electric fuel pump. Rebuilt top end, new carb kit, new big end bearings following hydrolock issue, all ok and would Rev to 4800, loud knocking and low oil pressure after only 4 hours, turned
out 2 con rods were slightly bent so engine has now had a rebore, new pistons and crank etc.
I have been running it in for 12 hours on the water at 2200 max rpm with no problems.
opended her up gradually to get on the plane and at 3000 rpm the engine suffered fuel starvation and would
only run at low revs, this happened every time I tried to open her up, too late and too dark to start checking
things, any ideas what to look for.

Hi Bondo, tank was drained and cleaned and it has a new filter, I was thinking perhaps 2nd stage on carb not working or a jet blocked?

Need more information......................

what year is boat

what carb is on boat? webber or rochester?

Need more info................

Does anybody know what the electric pump pressure should be as there are high and low pressure pumps listed for the 4.3 V6

Any fuel pump for a carburetor if I remember correctly cannot exceed 8 psi.

Nominal running pressure is 3-7 psi

Thanks for that, I,m going to replace the filter and blow the fuel line and test the pump pressure now I know what it should be.
Gonna re-name the boat to Ka-ching when it all sorted.
