I have a 2002 Mercury/Tracker / 2 stroke / oil injected...2 cylinder...
it has one carburetor.
that I bought on a SunTracker pontoon one year ago.
The outboard starts great, run great.
The only thing I don't like is the load "thunk...think...thunk"
sound it makes when it's popped into reverse or forward.
it won't do it when it's in neutral....and it's gone when I give it
about 300 rpm more or higher. (Like when I'm trolling.)
the "in gear" rpm is 700 according to the book.
it was at 650 when this video your about to see was made.
i raised it to 800 and half of the sound is gone now!??
I tried different adjustments to the "air mixture" screw, but it made no difference. If any heard and identified this sound before please let me know what it is or what you did to eliminate it. Thank You!
