Power tilt seals

I have a 2002 Nissan 30 HP. The upper seal on the power tilt cylinder leaks and appears to not be a replaceable part, but the cylinder appears to be screwed onto the base. The 2005 Tohatsu 30 HP shows the power tilt as an assembly that has replaceable seals.
Does anyone know: 1) If the 2002 power tilt cylinder will unscrew from the base, and 2) If the 2005 cylinder assembly fit into the 2002 power tilt assembly base?

Thank You

Year is irrelevant. What actual models are you asking about. In '02, you could get either a 2- or 4-stroke motor.

Sorry, 4 stroke, Model NSF 30A, Serial 030808XC. Do you mean that the 2002 and 2005 have the same Power Tilt parts (they have different part numbers for the assembly)? It could be that they are the same (or at least interchangeable) but the 2002 parts list just doesn't show the breakdown.

No, I mean you are probably comparing NSF30A and NSF30B. The B model is EFI. Tohatsu/Nissan outboards always go by model/serial, never year. The B model uses a newer TT unit, which has replaceable parts for the ram and seals. The newer unit will work on the A models if the newer tilt stopper is used. Can the cylinder be unscrewed from the earlier-style TT unit? Probably. Does Tohatsu have internal parts and seals for it, no. You would have to try to source those locally. Incidentally, your serial number is not from 2002, but rather 2003. You probably guessed the year from the emissions sticker.
