I have a 89 force 125hp that was given to me. It came off a bayliner. I put the motor on my other boat ( motor ran fine when on the bayliner) I followed the wires coming from the engine down the tube that came out of the engine to make sure I had all the wires I needed. I did cut some wires that went to a fuse panel but it was for the tilt and trim. (Works fine) the problem I'm having is the couple bare wires I have I don't know exactly what they are for. I tested the wires with the key switch on to know which need to go to positive and which ones needed to go to negative. The starter isn't getting power to it. The positive cable from the starter goes to some little box with another positive connection (it's hot all the time) and a couple little wires coming off it. I'm lost and frustrated. Any help would be great. The only bare wires I have are a orange wire(overhear?) which I don't know if I even need that, and a couple purple wires.
