Buying plugs for my for my Mercury 150hp efi 2 stroke. 2004 model. In Cairns they want $30 plus per plug. That is an NGK BPZ8HS-10. Is there a cheaper alternative.

That is a $9.00 plug on this website. If you like your engine you will use what the manufacturer recommends. A new power head is $3-4K.

Do they have to be the resistor type plug.

Your question signifies that you do not want to follow asked for advice.


They have to be the plug the manufacture specifies.

If they specify an NGK BPZ8HS-10, that is what you put in.

The reason I ask is that I found BPZ8HS-10 plugs on eBay, but when looking at details it said no resistor. Bit confusing that. I thought the Z in it meant it had a resistor.

It wouldnt be the first time the part description was wrong that part number is a resistor plug according to sparkplugs.com
