Johnson 7.5 HP...Where is the throttle cable connection at the motor

I'm as green as they come(boating) so bare with me please...I recently bought a 25' Sea Crown Marine sailboat with a 1982 Johnson 7.5 HP Motor. In the cockpit I have two levers with cables...The first cable I connected to the gear lever of the motor and it seems to function ok...the other cable I am assuming connects to the throttle of the motor somewhere but I cant seem to figure it out...the only info I could find online was to remove the throttle handle by pushing in the two set pins and pull off. After removing the handle I didn't see any clear way to connect so I didn't go any futher. My neighbor popped his head for about 5 minutes this morning, laughed his butt off for 4 of the minutes then strolled away mumbling "maybe that second cable steers the boat". Any thoughts? Thank you.

There is a remote adaptor kit perhaps you have the parts or possibly can find the installation instructions.
