Can anyone tell me what the measurements are for the short shaft are as far as from the anti-cavitation plate and where the transom clamp rest on transom?My 9.9hp measure about 17.5" from those points.thanks
 
Short shaft = 15"

Long shaft = 20"

Cavitation plate is best suited to be approximately 3/4" below keel at the transom.
 
Measure the transom height thats all you need to know. The model number tells you if it is long or short. There is a 5 inch longer extension housing between the exhaust housing and gearbox if it has been converted to long shaft.
