Power trim motor replace

I have a 60 hp Mariner outboard. The motor is stuck in about the mid up/down position. Ihave read most of the threads on removing the motor, but I am stuck at the release bolt, it will not turn and am starting to strip the plastic head. I also tried to remove the upper pin, but cannot get at the grove pin to pull it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 
Use a little heat if the plug is solid plastic,burn it out and replace with new,have fire extinguisher handy. First have u tried penetrating spray,soak overnight
 
I am into same issue on my Merc 25 Jet......the shaft of the piston snaped at the collar.......there is a holding nut and washer on the left side to remove but the pin was not having anything to do nwith comming out. I pounded on it. I put heat to it, penetrating oils etc and even used a "BFH"
I eventually decided to use my recip saw and cut it out. Both ends then pushed out well and the piece in the collar I put heat to and it came out.
Frustrating as hell as there is not a grease nipple there at all.
