Chrysler '75 model 75 hp gearbox same as 60 hp unit?

You sure it's a 60?
I don't think they made a 60 ever??

55 yes and 65 in 1978.
If they look the same they probably will work.
Just the gear ratio will probably be wrong.
Just have to maybe change props?

Thank you for info. Unfortunately even a prop one cannot get here in South Africa. So, will have to take out bearing carrier myself ( with luck ( and see how to re-connect the gear-shift-stck to "whatever". The book does not tell you anything at all as to the internal gear-shifter. Regards, Jean

Hi Jerryjerry. Your guess is just about right. My " EXPERT " local man decided to see what's on there. Yes, he so unfortunarely pulled the scew out and then pushed the gear-shifter down. I managed to lift the shifter. The shifter can now be pushed right in and lifted right up. However, drive-shaft and prop-shaft are still locked. Just do not want to "fool around" too much in case I damage the unit. The problem is, that the book just does not show you properly how to reconnect the internal unit to the gear-shifter. Will try to pull the bearing cage hopefully and then see what's what.
