My 99 Evinrude 90 HP FICH-F engine blew. Mechanics took head off and stated that #1 and #3 cylinder had scoring on them due to lack of lube or water in engine. They told me that the repairs would cost more than engine is worth. I find that hard to believe. I looked at replacement ones and they are in excess of $4000. They tried to sell me a new ETEC one. Can this motor be rebuilt for under $3000? Nothing else wrong with engine. Is this year and model worth rebuilding ( not trusting dealership)
