I am working on my friends '90 Mercruiser 3.0 DDIC. We initially had a problem with the kill switch and fixed that, Fuel system was nasty cause it had been sitting a couple years, rebuilt carb, replaced rubber lines cleaned everything else. Now to the problem at hand. I have 12.6v coming out of key switch and kill switch, with electric choke unplugged I get 12.6 at the DDIC box. When I plug the electric choke in I lose power at DDIC box. At no time do I have power at my position sensor or coil.

Ok, the DDIS was bad. We did the conversion to the distributor. I found that I had no power to any purple supply wire when everything was done. through messing with things I found that when I unplug the electric choke on the carb I get power back but lose it when I crank the motor.
