Water pressure is low to zero at high rpm

Pre alpha mercruiser 3.0 1976

Water hose hooked up everything is fine 10- 15lbs at any rpm

In the lake, Start up is fine, 15lbs of pressure. As I speed up to 3000 rpms it drops to 5 lbs. Anything over that it hits zero???????

Temp never got over 140, but I didn't run it long when it hit zero.

I changed the impellar and thermostat. Maybe I did something wrong, I am a newbie

Any help would be appreciated.
 
that did not come with the engine and we dont know exactly how or where its hooked up so ignore the water pressure gauge and concentrate on the water temp gauge
