2003, 350 mag Bravo III, 480 hrs. boat starts and runs however different from last year.

ignition, key in (1st) turn fuel pump engages and primes. wait, turn key (2nd) position to stop, proceed to (3rd) position by turning key, cranking engine the engine should happen as in the past instead, "nothing".

if i release key back to (2nd) position and retry key i get crank and engine running.

do i have a bad ignition/key switch or something else?

thoughts?

Thanks
John

I think BT Doctor meant to say was

Ignition key is three position

Off, Ignition On, Crank.

Once cranks is released it springs back to ignition on.

Is this EFI or Carbureted motor?

If Carbureted then there is a slave solenoid on the motor.

That may be bad

Efi. Understood and agree on 3 postion. The first turn into starter nothing. The 2nd turn into starter I run just fine. Right up. No hesitation.
