I have a 1999 Johnson 115 hp outboard that is leaking oil around the bottom of the engine shroud. The oil is blue and appears to be leaking from a connection just inside the shroud where the outside fuel and oil lines enter. I noticed this problem last year and thought I'd tightened it up sufficiently. The boat has been stored until just now, and when I tried to start it I got a lot of smoke and much more oil dripping from the shroud onto the lower unit. The engine kept dying too. Even after I stopped trying to run the engine, I smelled a strong odor of gas for quite some time. The bulb on the gas tank was not staying firm either, but the bulb on the oil line was and still is staying firm. Any ideas as to what is going on?
