After I replaced the power pack, stator, timer base, wires and plugs my 1991 200 HP. Eveinrude will not start. Does any one have any suggestions or possible reasons why this is happening.

Are you saying that the electric starter does not crank the engine over... OR... are you saying that the electric starter cranks the engine over normally but the engine will not start and run?

Compression should be close to 100 psi.... is it?

When it gets to the point where you do have spark....... The spark, with the spark plugs removed, should jump a 7/16" gap with a strong blue lightning like flame...a real SNAP! The gap is important... the s/plugs must be removed in order to obtain the highest rpm.

The engine must crank over at 300 rpm or more in order for the stator to energize the powerpack.

Now, if the engine has compression and the proper spark.... that leaves fuel.

Check that the carburetors haven't accidentally been loaded up with oil (it happens). If the engine has been sitting for some time, the most common cause is fouled carburetors,,,, a clue to this problem might be what the back portion of the float chamber drain screw plugs look like.

Proper starting procedure.... pump fuel primer bulb up hard, apply a slight bit of throttle, turn key to the start position AND push in the key to activate the fuel primer solenoid, when the engine fires, release the key.

Check that the RED lever on the primer solenoid is in the automatic position, pointed straight back at the other end of the solenoid... helpful friends have been known to turn that thing, flooding the engine with fuel!

Spark plugs should be Champion QL77JC4 plugs gaped at either .040 (Hotter spark) or .030 (longer life).

Remove the black/Yellow wire (kill circuit) from the ignition switch or the same wire at the powerpack and retest for spark. If you have spark with that wire disconnected from the switch, replace the switch. Let us know what you find.
