Moving Center Console

I have a 1989 16' Bay Hawk with a center console. Could I replace the existing console with a shorter one and move it to the right side? Don't do much salt water bay fishing anymore and would like to customize more toward fresh water bass type boat. Looking for Pros and Cons for this type reconstruct. Would this change the integrity of he boat too much? What other issues might arise? Just looking for input and suggestions. Just had some work done on the motor and its running great. I'm not ready to upgrade to a new boat yet. Thanks in advance.

Anything can be done you just need to reroute the wires and cables for steering and throttle/shift. It can be labor intensive but doable. How good are you at fiberglass work?
