Volvo Penta Fuel Pump Assembly Issues

Well... looks like I will need to buy a 3rd pump assembly... :x but wanted to see if anyone knows if the new pump internals are still coated. Meaning, do the new ones continue to suffer from the same issues in the long run??

Here are a few photos of the two pumps that I have and what they look like when I took them apart... there was a lot of corrosion on the newer one... the pump internal mesh/filters were clogged with debris from the paint finish.

First, taking apart the first one that fail, housing on this one is in better shape than the second one that we bought (we have had the boat since new). First pump failed after a few years of using the boat... now.. this boat seldom gets used (total of 85 hours since we got it)... but we do maintenance like clock work... flushing it, keeping the batteries in great shape, fluids check and changed every year. My father-in-law is very meticulous with it... his way to relief stress is cleaning and maintaining the boat...

Three bolts on the bottom, three on top, one holding the clamp for the high-pressure pump...

Here you can see some of the black finish from the internal parts stuck to the o-rings...
