oil sensor alarm after VRO disconnected

I have a Mercury XR6 150HP. I decided to disconnect the VRO, plugged oil lines, disconnected the 3 wires from the pump to the alarm module and the 2 wires from the oil reservoir and taped them all off. Now the oil alarm(multiple beeps) goes off continuously when the ignition switch is turned on. What else do I need to do?

Didn't have to do all that wiring, just unplug the purple wire on oil module box...

oilsensor.jpgThanks for the reply. So the only purple wire is from the warning module to the 12 volt supply. Wouldn't unplugging that keep the overheat sensor from working? I unplugged the two wires from the oil reservoir and the 3 wires from the oil pump. I just decided to go with premix gas and removed the oil reservoir because it was leaking. Do I need to plug any wires back in? Thanks.

No it shouldnt as sensor is ground side of horn...turn key on and ground sensor and horn should sound..
